Reviews

This is our second time staying at the cottage. We really enjoy the comforts of the cottage, ideally placed for walking into Rye town. Also having parking on site is a real bonus. Overall we have enjoyed our stay at the cottage and we look forward to staying there again soon.

Mrs P,

This cottage has every think you need for a great holiday for a winter and lwould love to go back in the summer and would hope it would be as good as a winter holiday and thanks to the owner for a loverly welcome pack and a loverly warm house.

Mr D,

The location is lovely, close to the river and to the intriguing town of Rye. The mews gates mean the cottage is very quiet and private, including the dedicated parking place, yet still very central to the town itself. The rooms are not large, but neither are they claustrophobic or cluttered. The kitchen is well-equipped, and so is the very generous bookshelf!

Mr U,

This is the second time we have stayed at Forge Mews. The location is extremely good, being right by the town centre, and just a short walk to the main supermarket and the railway station. Parking is nice and safe, right by the property. The rooms are comfortable and spacious.

Mr C,

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a perfect position near the centre of Rye. The private car parking was a great asset. The welcome pack was much appreciated. There was lots to see and do in the area and we enjoyed the variety of shops, restaurants and historic buildings in Rye. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Mrs J,

There were a few stains on the carpets which need sorting. There was a broken wine glass left in a cupboard and another glass had a chip in, these should have been disposed of before our arrival. We were requested not to use the recycling bin for the cottage but to use one in a public car park which was no where near the cottage and would have involved a car journey, this is not acceptable. Fortunately one the neighbours was very helpful and allowed us to use their bin. The courtyard needed a good weed and and clean. Overall good quality property, but could be excellent with a bit more attention to detail.

Mrs Judith O,

On arrival we found no cleaning had been done and no sheets/towels were available. Obviously Bank Holidays are not the best time to contact people and we found it hard to find a number that was responsible for the letting. A company was eventually found and an emergency team sent in to put things right. We were unable to unpack or settle ourselves and had to go out for an unexpected meal while cleaning etc was done as it was now almost 6.00pm. The emergency team did an excellent job - I think they were called Sparkly Whites or something similar. The other niggle was that the TV, which had been very temperamental, stopped working at all for the last two days. All this was a shame as the cottage was quite satisfactory and its position with parking was excellent. On the whole we had a very good holiday and are sorry that there must have been some poor organisation.

Mrs Betty R,
