Description

Jessie's Place is on top of the hill above Bodiam Castle - a beautiful 14th century castle, one of Britain's most romantic and picturesque which could have come straight out of a fairytale complete with drawbridge and moat. Steam trains of the Kent and East Sussex Railway from Tenterden and Northiam stop at the recently refurbished Bodiam station so you will be steeped in history and nostalgia here. Situated only five miles from Robertsbridge and just seven miles from  Rye the location couldn't be better for great days out, and the village pub - The Castle Inn - is just a short walk down the hill from the cottage annexe for good, home-cooked food if you are feeling too relaxed to cook! Short breaks accepted but can only start on a Friday or a Monday.  Shop: 2 miles Pub: 0.25 mile  Coast: 7 miles

Ground Floor:

Kitchen with tiled floor and dining table to one end is very well equipped including an eye level electric oven, separate electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and plenty of storage space
Sitting Room is dual aspect and has laminate flooring with rug, a very comfortable leather corner suite with co-ordinating coffee table, flat screen TV/DVD with Freeview and French doors to the patio and garden
Bedroom has twin beds which can be put together to make a kingsize, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers and a corner built-in wardrobe with shelving. Views across the garden to the countryside beyond
Bathroom is beautifully tiled and presented, with a shower over the bath, heated towel rail, washbasin and w.c

Garden: Patio with garden furniture and lawned area with wonderful views across the hills.
Parking: Free on-street parking a few yards from the cottage.
Heating: Electric central heating.
Also Provided: Laundry service in main house - small charge applies.
Notes: The owners are happy to accept babies but would point out that there is no room for a cot in the bedroom. Whilst the annexe is all on one level so suitable for those with mobility problems, it should be noted that there are three steps up to the garden path.

Reviews

Location is fine, house has sufficient room, reception was very nice.

Mr Frederik V,

In general very good. Lack of accessable sockets in bedroom and living room meant having to charge phone and iPad on kitchen worktop, annoying!

Mrs Gwyneth W,

We had a very enjoyable week at Jessie's place - helped by wonderful weather which is not under Original Cottages control! However the cottage was very comfortable, clean, warm, well equipped and in a brilliant location for exploring the area, which is full of interest.

Mrs Susan B,

You failed to tell the owners that I had rented the property. Luckily they were in, and were not using the cottage but it was a bit embarrassing for both of us and a hassle as they had to unexpectedly change the beds etc.

Mr David B,
