Reviews

I had an amazing time. I went away for a quiet break just for a couple of days. I have a very busy work world in the NHS and felt I needed to get away. I didn’t feel the need for rushing about the countryside. The byre was lovely. Welcoming, clean, well equipped with instructions for using log burner but also central heating if, like me, you’re not familiar or brave with a log burner. The bed was so comfortable too. Equipment was lovely and clean too. Very cosy. The hosts although I didn’t meet them personally were wonderful and messaged back when I’d messaged. They checked everything was fine. I sensed if there had have been an issue they would have sorted it. I hope to go back and take husband and dogs next time. There’s a lake for fishing on site. There are many places to visit in and around the area although I stayed put. Thank you so much for a lovely stay

Mrs F,

Heather and James were welcoming and helpful. The cottage was very dog friendly and our dog had great fun. A very relaxing week.

Mrs H,

We had been warned of road noise and it was a problem! Nothing can be done about that!! Beautiful surroundings! Barley Byrne was lovely, but there was a smell of drains which did go after the first day - probably due to non use. The beds were an issue - too low! Other than that we had a lovely time.

Mrs Julie D,

Thank you for a lovely warm cosy weekend. We had everything we needed and the welcome gifts were very thoughtful

Nicola and G,

Thank you a lovely stay at Barley Byre, a welcome short break from London. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Our 2 Huskadors enjoyed sunbathing on the patio. We stopped at Scotney castle and went for a drink at the local Bull Pub who were very welcoming to our dogs.

Previous Customer,

Thank you Heather for a lovely stay. Comfy, homely and clean. Loved the Welcome basket.

Previous Customer,

We didn’t realise the accommodation was so near a very busy road, so there was a lot of noise from cars all the time. Not very nice when sitting outside and at night. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Pillows really hard, so would be a good idea to get softer ones to save bad necks.

Mrs Cheryl P,

Great property. Booking was super easy. Loved my stay.

Mrs Quille T,

Lovely walks across the fields, our dogs lettice and jasper had a lovey time. The facilities were very well appointed and we look forward to coming again. The trip to Chapeldown winery was very enjoyable and we visited many great pubs in the surrounding area. In fact we don’t want to leave as we’ve been so happy here. Ray, Christine and Fiona

A gorgeous place, this Barley Byre. We loved it from the moment we arrived. Heather and James are so kind. The landscape so beautiful and diverse. Thank you for making our vacation so truly special.

Simone & N,

A worthwhile disconnect from the busyness of London. My wife whose birthday it was loved the serenity of the place. Thank you friendly hosts . So long Barley Byre, until we meet again.
