Here at Kent and Sussex Holiday Cottages our staff are our most valuable asset - they are real people, not just telephone operators in a faceless call centre. They all work incredibly hard to find the right accommodation to suit your needs. As every cottage has been personally inspected by our staff, when you call us you will be able to talk to someone who has seen the property and can (hopefully!) answer all your questions. It is important to us to provide a quality service and we are always happy to hear from our visitors with ideas or ways to improve our service.
George Bradley - General Manager
As a Suffolk man born and bred, I have been delighted to broaden my horizons and discover the many scenic, cultural and culinary delights offered by these two wonderful counties. I enjoy walking in the countryside and the glorious displays of Spring bluebells are a particular favourite. The city of Canterbury is also a favourite place to explore the rich cultural heritage, wide variety of shops and fabulous selection of places to eat and drink. As a bit of a foodie, I am making the most of the scrumptious selection of local produce available, not to mention the delicious Shepherd Neame beers!
Kate Redman - Office Manager
I have worked for Kent and Sussex Holiday Cottages since January 2006 and I still enjoy the variety of the job and the challenges it produces. My role is to try to ensure the smooth running of the office on a day to day basis, distributing work and emails and making sure we are sufficiently staffed. I have lived in Kent all my life and really enjoy walking or cycling in the countryside. I live in Staplehurst which has many quiet country lanes or local footpaths all within a short distance. I also enjoy visiting the wonderful gardens in the area to get ideas for my own garden, but have to use them on a smaller scale!
Wendy Pullen - Property Manager
I joined Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages in July 2009 and worked part-time in reservations. After six years I have now progressed to the full time position of Property Manager, which really is my perfect job. I love the variety that it brings - recruiting new properties, meeting lots of interesting people and enjoying the changing landscape as I travel around our lovely counties. In my down time I enjoy going to the Kino Cinema in Hawkhurst, walking my lovely dog and spending time, drinking wine with my wonderful family and friends.
Angela Jackson-Grillet - Property Manager
I joined the company in September 2014 as Property Recruitment Manager for the Sandwich office. I am very much a ‘Maid of Kent’ having grown-up and been born in Broadstairs, which to this day I still adore. Kent is a wonderful county and I’m one of its biggest advocates! It offers fabulous diversity, a wealth of history and wonderful unspoilt countryside, not to mention the gorgeous beaches and coastline. We are so lucky to have a fabulous city like Canterbury on the doorstep with all its cultural activities and in my opinion the most beautiful Cathedral in England! Having spent a lot of time living in Europe, I have settled back in Kent but just love the fact that I can still be in France within 1 hour of leaving home. Working with Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages gives me the opportunity to indulge my love of property and meeting new people and I am delighted when I can help customers plan their holidays in our lovely county. When not at work I will invariably be found out in the countryside, riding my horse or walking in the woods or on the Downs.
Selina Farnfield - Quality Assessor
I joined the Company in September 2017 as a part-time Quality Assessor, helping our owners to make the most of their properties through assessing and advising. I love the opportunities my job gives me to explore Kent. I was born in Tunbridge Wells, but lived much of my life abroad or in London, so I have a lot more to discover about this beautiful county I call ‘home’. I am lucky to live in the tiny village of Hastingleigh, nestled in the North Downs above Wye. I love walking and have access to many walks from my front door, or, if I choose to drive, I can be wandering along one of the many beaches within an hour of my house. I am also a singer, and I enjoy the variety of cultural events in Kent (from local choir concerts to the annual Canterbury Festival)… which I often hear about first through Kent and Sussex Holiday Cottages web information!
John Labrum – Quality Assessor
When I was a child I would listen to my family talk affectionally of their Hop picking summers spent in Kent. I would never had thought that years later I would be visiting those same farms and smallholdings albeit from completely different perspective. Having spent over 20 years surveying and managing homes, it’s a pleasure to now work with homeowners to help them let properties of all shapes and sizes from Beach Huts to beautifully converted Oast Houses and modern purpose built holiday homes. Being an avid walker, over the years, I have seen many of these properties as I wandered the footpaths of Kent and Sussex and now I get to see them on the inside too. How fortunate for me it is to live and work in such a beautiful part of the country.
I joined Kent and Sussex Holiday Cottages in July 2009 and I work full time. I love the grade 2 listed building I work in and the old town of Cranbrook with its individual shops, we have a butchers, bakers and I am sure tucked away somewhere is the candlestick maker. Holiday reservations keeps me busy, I love talking to customers and finding them their perfect holiday cottage. I enjoy visiting our cottages taking new photographs, and once back in the office processing the images and adding them to our website. In my spare time I am an avid runner and road cyclist spending most weekends and evenings running or cycling through the beautiful Kent countryside. I can certainly understand why Kent is known as the Garden of England.
I joined Kent and Sussex holiday cottages in 2007 and work part time in the Sandwich office which is situated in the centre of this lovely Cinque port town. Steeped in history and with the secret gardens of the Salutation designed by Lutyens and Jekyll, the market town is a pleasure to visit on each of my working days. I am pleased to be part of the reservations team and have lived in the area all of my life, moving a few miles into town from a very rural location where happy childhood memories were made. On my days off I enjoy cycling through the countryside and seaside towns local to my home. It is a lovely part of the country to live and I have to keep telling myself this and not take it all for granted, having the fresh sea air just a short stroll from my home.
I started working part time for Kent & Sussex in January 2015. I love living in this beautiful part of the world so it is a pleasure to help people find their perfect holiday here. I enjoy speaking to customers and homeowners alike and where possible, going out to see the cottages themselves. I am now trained in photography so enjoy capturing the properties in their best light. I have also been very involved in the new website and enjoy keeping that fresh and up-to-date. When I am not working I enjoy walking our dog in the woods at Hemsted, Sissinghurst and Bedgebury or along Camber Sands. If I am not cheering on our boys at one of their numerous sporting fixtures, I might manage to pick up a tennis racquet myself and we all enjoy cycling on the forest trails or along the coast at Rye Harbour. We have some fabulous local pubs and restaurants which we like to visit as often as we can!
I joined the team at the beginning of January 2015 with Julia and work part-time in reservations. I am thoroughly enjoying all the variety that the role has to offer. Having lived in the area for nearly sixteen years and bringing up three children here, I know just how much this part of the country has to offer, with its beautiful countryside, wonderful coastline and gorgeous market towns. I also have seen what a huge variety of stunning and interesting properties there are in the area and we are so lucky to have so many of these ‘on our books’ to offer to customers. I previously worked in public relations and so am definitely a people person – I enjoy talking to both customers and owners alike. In my spare time I am either walking or running our very energetic dog in Hemsted or Bedgebury woods or travelling the county watching my sons playing rugby or my daughter playing hockey or netball. I also love the wide range of shops we have here – from vintage shops in Whitstable and Canterbury to the lovely towns of Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells, there is something for everyone.
I joined the team at the beginning of 2016 and work part time in reservations in the Cranbrook Office. I grew up and went to school in Tonbridge Kent before moving to London. When we had our children we were keen to return to this area so they could enjoy growing up in such beautiful countryside and all that it has to offer with its stunning forests and beaches. I enjoy working with both customers and owners to ensure that we provide the best experience for everyone. I enjoy walking my dog in Bedgebury Forest and she particularly loves jumping in the waves at Camber Sands. Having worked in fashion buying, one of my favourite pastimes is shopping in Tunbridge Wells and the lovely boutique shops found in Tenterden and Rye.
