Chris and I visited lovely Chiddingstone Castle on a perfect late summer's day. The history of the house is extremely interesting in itself but it is the personality of the latest incumbent and his extraordinary collections from around the world that really fascinates. It is a most glorious setting with fabulous views. Straight across the valley is Emmetts Gardens with a matching tall tree piercing the skyline. Chiddingstone Castle is hosting a Country Fair on Sunday 15th September which promises to be great fun with horses, hounds, ducks and falcons among the country pursuits to enjoy. With a wonderful tea shop and a charming shop selling quirky and local merchandise, this is a great place to visit.
