Whilst visiting Chiddingstone Castle with Harriet last month, I heard about the Country Fair they had planned for the following week, and as I had friends staying with me it sounded like a perfect day out.
It was a part of Kent they had not seen before and it was a pleasure to be able to show them the stunning countryside and the beautiful castle.
We arrived just as the fascinating falconry display was starting, and then the dog and runner duck show was great fun (especially when their 12 week old puppy showed off the skills he had learned in his 2 weeks of training – he will go far). The dog show was enjoyed by all and even the dogs that didn’t win a rosette went away with their tails still wagging.
There was lots of tempting food and drink being sold throughout the day and lots of local produce and crafts to buy.
The Castle is open until 30th October and again for their Christmas Fair on 29th November, but we at Freedom Holiday Homes are lucky enough to be getting together with our homeowners for a champagne cream tea there in November .
