Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness

Autumn really is the best time of year for walks and enjoying the stunning colours of the leaves, the crisp freshness of the air and a cosy pub with an open fire to warm you up after all that excercise! We have so many beautiful places to choose from but of particular note is Sheffield Park with its mature oaks and maples reflected in a series of lakes. Originally laid out by Capability Brown in the 18th Century it is now maintained by the National Trust.
Another fabulous place to enjoy autumn splendour is Bedgebury Pinetum with over 12,000 trees and shrubs set in 350 acres of glorious countryside. Many rare and special trees are nurtured by the Forestry Commission and it is an ideal place to take children with loads of playgrounds, cycling opportunities, birdwatching and Go Ape in the treetops.
