I am very pleased to announce that Freedom Holiday Homes has agreed to a partnership with "Seven Wonders of the Weald", an association of attractions in the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The current list of Wonders consists of Bedgebury Pinetum, Biddenden Vineyard, Marle Place Gardens & Gallery, Penshurst Place, Kent & East Sussex Railway, Chiddingstone Castle and Merriments Gardens. all places that we are happy to encourage our customers to visit. Bedgebury is the perfect place to walk, cycle, ride or play with acres of magical forest and woodland, a haven for birds and other wildlife.
We are all great fans of Biddenden - our closest and Kent's oldest - Vineyard. Not only does it produce delectable wine and cider but also sausages and apple and pear juice and the shop sells local cheese, chutney, honey and crisps flavoured with Whitstable Oysters and Biddenden Cider Vinegar. Marle Place is a perfectly splendid garden with carefully placed sculpture and works of art that surprise and delight as you walk through the beautifully planted and designed grounds. We enjoyed a marvellous homeowner event at Penshurst Place a few years ago, it is a fantastic example of a fortified manor house with a magnificent Baronial Hall.
The Kent and East Sussex Railway runs along a restored stretch of railway track that connects Tenterden to Bodiam, the lovingly restored engines and carriages evoke the bygone era of steam travel and both destinations - and stops along the way - offer a wealth of interest and activity for all age groups. Chiddingstone Castle is filled with fascinating collections of historic artefacts from Japan, Egypt and closer to home that conjure up lives of eccentricity and intrigue. The gardens at Merriments are always a delight to visit and the extensive garden centre means you can replicate some of the stunning planting ideas in your own garden when you get home! We are looking forward to a happy and worthwhile association with this group of super attractions.
