The Wealden Times Mid Winter Fair was a fantastic success. It took place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Walled Garden at Bedgebury Pinetum and a wonderfully eclectic choice of merchandise filled a series of marquees. It was a great place to do some Christmas shopping while children from local schools sang carols and champagne and mince pies were served. At Spice, there was a brisk trade in tree decorations and gloves and socks. If you missed the Fair there's still plenty of time to dip into Spice for the wonderful range of kitchenware depicting beasts and birds of the field - foxes, badgers, pheasants and grouse amongst them. On Sunday, beautiful Finchcocks held a craft fair. This magical musical museum was a perfect backdrop for the lovely jewellery, Indian fabrics, woodwork and other artistry that was on display. There was also a good choice of chutneys, jams, fudge and macaroons to sample and some piano accompaniment to put us in the mood for celebrating the festive season.
