Fun Things To Do Over The February Half Term
Don’t worry if you haven’t booked your February Half Term getaway yet, we still have some lovely properties available and excellent ideas on how to make the most out of Kent and Sussex during the holidays!
Our first must do over the half term is taking the Kent & East Sussex light railway to Bodiam Castle. The train sets off from Tenterden which is otherwise known as ‘The Jewel of The Weald’ and takes a stunning 10 mile trip through the breath-taking countryside of the Rother Valley to finally find its resting place at the magnificent castle.
The railway has featured on an array of television and film productions including one of the most recent being the BBC’s ‘Countryfile’ and ‘One Show’ in 2013. If you would like to visit this famous railway call: 01580 765155 to find out more details.
Close to Tenderten is the ‘Rare Breeds Farm Park’ in Ashford, it’s a great day out for all the family and has an amazing selection of farmyard animals, reptiles, play areas and much more to make your visit packed full of things to do. Family tickets (2 adults & 2 children) are £28.00 with a gift aid donation, for more details on what there is to do at the centre visit their website here.
In East Sussex you will find The Observatory Science Centre, it is an excellent place for a family day out. During the half term there will be interactive hands-on exhibits, fascinating telescope tours and entertaining science shows. They are also running a range of fun educational workshops throughout the week, prices vary and booking is essential. For more information on what’s going on call: 01323 832731.
If you would like to explore the great outdoors there are a variety of footpaths around both Kent and Sussex to discover either on foot or on bikes which are family and dog friendly, so even your canine friend can get in on all the fun!
This is only a snapshot of our favourite things to do over the half term, if you have any other ideas for activities in Kent and Sussex over the holiday we would love to hear about it.
