Kent Topping the Polls

We are rather thrilled to note that two towns in Kent have been chosen in polls featured in major national newspapers. The Daily Telegraph named Deal as the number one High Street in Britain beating Bridport, Bury St Edmunds and Malmesbury amongst other attractive British High Streets and The Guardian included Folkestone in its Top 40 Destinations alongside Cape Town, Abu Dhabi and Moscow. This is very good news for both of these coastal towns. Deal is a very charming town and we have several delightful cottages to rent all within easy walking distance of the beach, the historic attractions and the award winning High Street! Folkestone has benfited from the addition of a Creative Quarter which has attracted quite a following amongst the artistic fraternity. The Triennial, which takes place between 30th August and 2nd November in 2014, brings art into the public arena with installations on the promenades and in Churches as well as art galleries. There is also an annual Literary Festival that features local writers and attracts visitors from all over the county and London. We have heard too that there is a trendy restaurant called Rocksalt that has attracted much attention and many good reviews so clearly Folkestone is worth visiting!
