If you are a keen horticulturists and are thinking of visiting Great Dixter, you will be pleased to hear that the doors will be opening for a sneak preview over the weekend of 15/16 February. This will give visitors the chance to see its more structural side, along with winter flowering shrubs, bulbs and hellebores. Great Dixter was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd and is now a centre of education, and a place of pilgrimage for horticulturists from across the world.
Combine this with a weekend at Lilac Cottage, which is just down the road from the magnificent gardens of Great Dixter in Northiam and is also ideally placed for exploring this lovely part of Sussex. Lilac Cottage is in a secluded and peaceful spot, tucked down a lane and nestled in its own pretty garden filled with flowers and fruit trees. It is available to book over the weekend of 15/16 February – the perfect combination!
