Those Three little words: I. Love. food.

To us Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to book into one of the local restaurants. If you are thinking of popping down to the South East around the 14th of February here’s my very own Top 3 places to consider for your classy, tasty, no cheese (well maybe the food kind) Valentine's Meal:

The Little Fish Market is a nice little Hove based restaurant. What really has me hooked (no pun intended) is that it’s really hot on seasonal cooking and all its ingredients are fresh. The food is prepared to order, and the results are scrumptious!

The Corner House at Minster has a mouth-watering menu! Definitely a place to go if you have a big appetite. I haven’t been to this one myself, but have heard really good reviews about the quality of the food, and the friendly staff.

The Jolly Poacher in Brighton has put together a special 3 course Valentine’s menu, reasonably priced at £35 per head. This restaurant is another advocate of fresh, seasonal produce, which ticks all the right boxes for me when it comes to eating out. I always find that menus seem to be more inventive when chef’s use restricted seasonal ingredients. Yum yum yum!

After all the attention and focus on family and friends over Christmas and the New Year, I like to think of Valentine's Day as a time to spend time with that one special person. Personally I don’t like all this cheesy commercial Valentines business; I would much rather book a table for two and just take time to enjoy each other’s company (whilst eating yummy food). Enjoy Valentine's without any sign of ginormous fluffy teddy bears.
