I expect you’ve heard of The Lanes in Brighton’s historic quarter and like me have visited several times over the years, but have you ever visited North Laine?
If you head down from the station , turn left down North Road and wander along to Brighton’s new Bohemian Quarter comprising of North Laine and the surrounding roads. It’s a really unique shopping experience – quirky individual shops and boutiques nestling alongside trendy cafés with cabinets full of mouth-watering cakes and original menus. There are small bay windows displaying vintage chic fashion right up to large shop windows full of exotic and funky furniture. Small studios house artisans displaying and selling jewellery, ceramics, glassware, sculpture, metalwork, paintings and there’s even the North Laine Gallery and local photographic studio. Shoes, comics, books, flowers, beauty salons to sport, there is something for everyone here.
When you need a 10 minute rest from browsing, then you can do no better than to head off to Temptation Café in Gardner St and watch the world go by!
In fact why not make a weekend of it and really enjoy what Brighton has to offer. We have the lovely Sea Salt Studio which has some availability and also a car parking space and the apartment is a comfortable stroll away from the centre of Brighton.
