I attended a photography course at Penshurst Place a couple of weeks ago but unfortunately it rained all day, so I thought I would revisit in the better weather to try to practice some of the points learnt. The gardens are really fantastic, with lots of “rooms” hidden behind the hedges.
Penshurst Place is a fantastic 14th Century Manor house, which is still a family home. Parts of the house are open to the public and all of the 500 acres of woodland and gardens. There is also a small toy museum, with some beautifully detailed doll’s houses as well as armies of lead soldiers. A Cycle track runs through the estate, so you can take a very scenic 5 mile ride from Penshurst to Tonbridge.
The Maize maze has just opened in time for the school summer holidays- see how long it will take them to find the middle of the maze and then come back out- you may well have a peaceful few minutes!
