Tomorrow Her Majesty The Queen is opening The Wing and the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust’s new visitor and education centre at Capel le Ferne. She will be accompanied by Prince Phillip.
Following in her mother's footsteps some 22 years later, The Queen will open the centre which has been built and fitted out by the Trust and will be open on Saturday 28 March to the public.
Weather permitting, a flypast by a Spitfire, Hurricane and Typhoon will mark the end of the visit. Let's hope for a clear day unlike last week's solar eclipse.
Located between Folkestone and Dover on the East Kent coast, the centre stands on the cliffs over looking the English Channel with spectacular views and on a clear day you can see France. It is a dedication to the bravery of Churchill's famous "few".
Well worth a visit and if you would like a break away to visit the area, we have some properties in Hythe, take a peek.
Hydene Cottage, Watsons, Badger's Holt and Hector's House.
