Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages are pleased to be sponsoring le weekend this year. The picturesque town of Sandwich once again this year is going French for the weekend. Now in its sixth year, this most popular event takes over Sandwich Town centre for two days of French Themed Fun and Festivities. ‘France at Home’ Market bring with them foods, cheeses, soaps, leathers, clothing, and all the sights, sounds and smells of a genuine French Market.
You can smell the beautiful aromas of the French cooking before you arrive at the stalls that really entice your taste buds. Music and Dancing from across the channel to suit may different styles and tastes. In addition to the French Market in the Guildhall Forecourt there will be a range of stalls in Market Street and on the Quay Green. La Balade de Sandwich - Classic cars meet French Style! On both days participants will gather on the Quay Green for a continental breakfast followed by a drive tour through Sandwich and beyond. There is also a family fun area with bouncy castles and rides for the little ones to enjoy. La Tour De Sandwich – is what I am excited about.
If you enjoy cycling then this could be something you can enjoy as a family or with friends. The French love their cycling and to bring this into the weekend you can cycle through the Kent Countryside in this fun and friendly sportive. The main cycling events are on Sunday where you can choose a 50K route (31 miles) 75K (47 miles) or 100K (62 miles). On the Saturday there are shorter routes for families and children. What better way to get some sightseeing, exercise and fresh air all at the same time.
I have entered the 75 K and I am busy getting cycle fit at the weeknds in preparation. Come and see us and give me a wave as I pedal past! We have some lovely self-catering accommodation in and around Sandwich. This weekend is something different for the county and is too good to miss!
