Battle Abbey–By Kate Redman
Spend a day going back in time to 1066, a date that everyone seems to know. Battle Abbey has ruins of the old abbey to explore including a plaque marking the spot where King Harold fell. There is a walk around the old battle ground with information panels explaining how the battle progressed. Along the route are wooden sculptures of soldiers who would have fought the battle. If the little ones still have energy after their walk, the playground will really tire them out with unique equipment such as an old hay wagon turned into a slide and old barrels to climb into .This is conveniently next to the café area , so mum & dad can have a nice well deserved drink while their children are occupied.
