Summer events to entertain the whole family

With the summer holidays fast approaching, you may be researching things to do now to keep the whole family entertained in Kent and Sussex this summer.  You’ll be spoilt for choice as there is so much to see and do in the area and so many of the attractions put on special events for the holiday season.  From events that bring history to life, to wildlife events, to festivals, to summer themed activities and theatre shows, we have it all in this lovely part of the country and we are sure you will find something to suit for a fun day out.

Summer Jousting and Royal School at Hever Castle

Summer Jousting takes place 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29 July when the Knights of Royal England battle it out at a tournament in an authentic arena complete with Royal Box.

Royal School takes place 21 July – 27 August, when a Knights & Princesses School will teach children what it was like to serve in the royal household in medieval times.

Kent Life Under the Sea and By the Sea at Kent Life, Sandling, near Maidstone

The Kent Life Under the Sea experience runs 25 July – 12 August and offers games, races and crafts as well as exciting shows in the Big top.  Kent Life By the Sea runs 13 August – 2 September.  Look out for the pirates and princesses, dig for treasure or have fun building sandcastles.

Moths by Moonlight

Taking place on July 22 at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Rye.  An after-hours event from the Sussex Wildlife Trust at which you can find out all about these fascinating creatures.

Shrek at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury

Taking place 11 – 22 July, based on the story and characters from the much loved and Oscar winning film, expect lots of laughs from this hilarious and spectacular production.

Whistable Oyster Festival

Taking place 21-23 July, this unique event is based on what once used to be a Norman holy festival.  It is now a fun filled weekend featuring lots of singing and dancing and a parade signifying the landing of the Oysters and their delivery around the town.

Ramsgate Regatta Week

This takes place 22-27 July, is hosted by the Royal Temple Yacht Club and is one of the longest running regattas in the world.  Meet all the competitors, while enjoying the wonderful views of the harbour.  You can also enjoy The Ramsgate Festival which takes place inland in the town at the same time.

We are currently taking on lots of new properties and still have availability for the summer.  Click here to see more here
