Canterbury Festival is now the biggest music and performing arts festival for the south east and offers a host of wonderful events, performances and concerts through various venues in the city centre including the stunning cathedral and further afield in outlying towns and villages.  The Festival now attracts an audience of nearly 60,000 people of all ages and plays host to over 200 events in 2 weeks, ranging from West End shows to Talks from award winning journalists and broadcasters, to Artists’ open houses and concerts from leading lights in the music industry – this year the world- renowned Welsh baritone Sir Bryn Terfel will be performing at The Marlowe Theatre.

The magical Spiegeltent, also known as ‘Salon Perdu’, is an absolute must for any festival-goer and is at a new location on the eastern side of the city.  This fabulous atmospheric venue is a large travelling tent with wooden flooring, beautifully decorated with glass and mirrors and with intimate seating booths and a central stage, where the audience is quite literally drawn in to the performances, whether that be a charismatic French magician, gipsy guitar players or creative puppet shows and baby disco - just perfect for the children.  With so much on offer there really is a show for everyone throughout a fun, amazing, action packed 2 weeks.  We offer some great properties in the Canterbury area which are perfect for enjoying a break in this wonderful city.  From a stylish contemporary apartment sleeping 2 to a period house sleeping 6 where you can enjoy some family time or a  get together with friends.
