Description

This delightful Grade II listed house built circa 1750 is a true step back in time, sympathetically furnished with antique furniture and some lovely art, plus wonderful original features and located in the heart of Deal's old town.  The accommodation is arranged over 3 floors and comfortably sleeps 6 people with the possibility of an additional fold up bed for a child.  The house is bright and airy with large sash windows some with original internal shutters and is only a few yards from the seafront and promenade where you can still find fishing boats pulled up on  the shingle beach just south of the pier. Deal is full of quirky independent shops, great little cafes and some very good restaurants, 81 Beach Street being one of them, where you can benefit from the Exclusively For You offer available to our guests.  There is an attractive courtyard garden to enjoy a morning coffee or aperitif whilst listening to the sea, with a rear access gate for bicycles if needed.  The cycle path along the seafront stretches all the way to Kingsdown where you will find The Zetland Arms pub on the beach, passing both Walmer and Deal castle on the way.  Head inland to discover the lovely Kent countryside dotted with vineyards, orchards and woodland or have a day out in the stunning medieval city of Canterbury - only 40 minutes drive.  Shop: 1 mile            Pub: 100 yards            Coast: 50 yards

Reviews

Fabulous House. We all loved staying here. Beautifully decorated with a great kitchen, you have everything you need. The house is so close to the beach and we enjoyed wonderful walks along the coast. Deal is perfect for a weekend getaway and we had a great host.

Previous Customer,

Ashington House is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The space is really stylish but at the same time is super comfortable. I can see why some previous reviewers have said that they have struggled with children because the house is full of lovely antique furniture, but for adult travellers it was just perfect. A fantastic stay.

Previous Customer,

Ashington House is perfect! Great location, gorgeous courtyard garden, very comfortable beds, and a lovely interior. Thank you, we have enjoyed our wonderful weekend in sunny Deal. We hope to return very soon!

Previous Customer,

Fabulous House, beautifully decorated, right by the sea. Perfect combination of charm ad function. Can't recommend enough. Thank you!

Previous Customer,

We stayed in this property quite last minute and can't praise Laurence enough for his patience with dealing with our changing plans (and dates). We stay in Deal fairly regularly and this spot is perfect, very close to the beach and the shops, while still lovely and quiet. There were so many thoughtful touches - books on the area with added notes, toiletries and even xtra tooth brushes and cotton wool and lots of cleaning products to make our stay much more comfortable. All kitchen appliances were new and we had plenty of cips, plates and cutlery so we didn't need to bring much with us at all. Beds were incredibly comfortable and all the rooms were spacious.

Previous Customer,

Absolutely wonderful place. Comfiest beds, super stylish, perfect location.

Previous Customer,

Stylish and comfortable house with all the amenities we (three friends) needed. Sparkling clean, comfy beds and very well equipped kitchen. We had a lovely stay.

Miss C,

Hi we had a great stay and you have a lovely house. We did have a mix up with the recycling at first as the bin liners were in the wrong bins! Super clean house so your housekeeper does a great job! Thanks!
