Sandcroft enjoys a commanding position right on the seafront in the small coastal village of Littlestone.  This area is in the heart of the beautiful Romney Marsh and was originally established as a resort for the gentry.  The sandy beach, which is a stone's throw from the property, spreads across the coast for half a mile and is the perfect place for swimming and sandcastle building.  The flat landscape makes it perfect for walking and cycling and is also a popular destination for kite surfing, land yachting and kite boarding due to the clear stretch of beach.
The apartment dates back to the early 1900's and was the former home of Herbert Gladstone MP, who was the Home Secretary from 1906-1910.  It has been converted into a spacious first floor apartment with open plan living offering two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms, making this an ideal choice for both families and groups of friends to get together.  The apartment is well equipped and is a real home from home with the most remarkable views.  There is also a communal garden to enjoy at this grand apartment and within walking distance to the local pub, two golf courses and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway.  This coastline enjoys a unique microclimate that makes it one of the driest places in Britain, perfect for a seaside holiday.  Shop: 0.5 miles  Pub: 0.5 miles  Coast: 0 miles

Out and About:

There are 2 golf courses a minutes walk from the property.  Littlestone Golf Course is a Championship Links course that requires a handicap to play.  The second one is the Littlestone Warren Golf Course which is a pay and play course, situated next door.  Both courses are cared for by the same team of greens staff and both share the same stretch of Romney Marsh land. The Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Light Railway is a 5 minute drive away and operates steam and internal combustion locomotives.  There is also a Dymchurch amusement park, the Dungeness Lighthouse and the Rare Breeds Centre near Hamstreet.  Port Lympne Zoo is a family favorite at Hythe.  There are many cycle routes throughout the countryside and coastal roads and also it is also great for walking.  The Littlestone beach opposite is flat and perfect for collecting shells and stones and just along the coast you will find Greatstone beach which has 2 miles of sand.  The surrounding Romney Marsh is a unique landscape and a visit to the Dungeness National Nature Reserve is a great way to discover the wealth of wildlife that lives there. Mainline stations are Ashford (17 miles) or Folkestone (15 miles).  There is a Spar shop (open from 8am-10pm every day apart from Christmas Day) three quarters of a mile along the Coast Road towards Dungeness (to the right when facing the sea).  A large Sainsbury's in New Romney, family butcher, green grocer, Cook shop, coffee shops and pubs.

Great 4 bed property in a lovely old building with a fab garden and good parking. We had our 2 boys (3 and 6) and their grandmother with us. If you want a modern place with state of the art gadgets this isnt for you. If you want a great location, on the beach, good sized apartment, clean and tidy this is for you as it was us! We loved our stay and wouldnt hesitate to book again.
