Some of the most sought after towns and villages in England can be found in Kent.
Tenterden is a pretty market town in the High Weald with a broad tree lined main street lined with quaint shops and cafes. Horatia Nelson, Lord Nelson’s daughter with Emma Hamilton, married the Vicar and lived in the Rectory of St Mildreds. Ellen Terry lived at Smallhythe where the Barn Theatre stages delightful entertainments. Also at Smallhythe is Chapel Down Vineyard which produces award-winning wine.
Tunbridge Wells is an elegant Georgian spa town with great shopping and restaurants. Nearby Tonbridge is dominated by a superb Norman Castle and has excellent rail connections to London and Gatwick Airport. There are excellent rail connections too at Ashford where Eurostar stops at the International Station for Paris and beyond.
Near to Bewl Water is Lamberhurst, where the vineyard offers excellent shopping and dining.
