Although in a rual setting and a tiny village, Rambler's Rest is perfectly placed for exploring. Faversham and Canterbury are both within easy reach. Belmont House an unspoilt Georgian House and gardens is only 2.5 miles away and well worth a visit as is Brogdale Collections only 5 miles away and home of the national fruit collections. Just a 20 minute drive will bring you to Whitstable where you can soak up the seaside atmosphere, taste the oysters and browse the many independent shops in Harbour Street. For the more adventurous, take a picnic and make a day of it with a 6 mile cycle ride through the lanes to the beautifully preserved village of Chilham which has featured in movies such as Emma and the TV dramas Poirot and Agatha Christie's Marple. With it's pretty square, village pubs, tearoom, castle and church this really is a picture postcard English village. Alternatively with so many beautiful walks including The Pilgrim's Way right on your doorstep and several country pubs to choose from - The Red Lion, The George, The Wagon and Horses - just enjoy a ramble to the pub for lunch and stay closer to home to make the most of the comforts of Rambler's Rest.
This is a lovely cottage, beautifully situated in a quiet location but within easy access to the surrounding area of Kent. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, and the owners had taken every care to make sure that it is Covid safe.
Lovely, cosy and comfy lodge, equipped to a high spec making the perfect get-away for two. Friendly and helpful owners. Great countryside and woodland walks from the door plus the bonus of a local pub within walking distance serving excellent homemade food. Although situated in a quiet spot, it's only an easy 20 minute drive into Canterbury. We were entertained by the family's chickens strutting around the garden, the pheasant making an appearance and the baby rabbit hopping around right outside our door one morning. We will definitely be back.
What a wonderful stay we've had! the cabin is so cosy and wonderful and equipped with absolutely everything you could think of and more! The quality of the fixtures and fittings is "Top Notch" The bed is super comfy , as are the sofas. We loved having a radio in addition to a TV (not often thought of) and the box of dominoes was a hit! Your recommendation on the walk at the end of the track was fab! We spent 3 hours wandering through the bluebell woods, spotting a huge variety of wild flowers and listening to the birdsong. We ordered a take away from The Red Lion and the food was superb. Not only that but the staff and other guests were so friendly. We will i'm sure be back! Thank you
