We have had the most brilliant holiday in the fantastic Valley View. What an amazing place to relax and explore all that this wonderful part of the world has to offer. To be able to go on lots of beautiful walks straight from the front door was a real treat and the peace and quiet of the valley was just what we needed at the end of this slightly odd summer. We barely scratched the surface with our sightseeing, but loved trips to Canterbury Cathedral, Deal (great lunch in The Rose), Howletts Wild Animal Park and the brilliant Kentish Pip Cider Farm. Lunch in the Black Robin was excellent too. Scarlett was a magnificent host - thank you so much for all your generosity and kindness especially with all the cake hit and photos for Connie's first birthday party. We would love to come back and maybe see the valley in the winter. What a wonderful holiday. Thank you ! Campbell family, Fulham London
We had a wonderful stay in Valley View. We enjoyed the beautiful views, walks in the woods and exploring the local area. Our favourite days were a trip to Howletts Wild Animal Park and swimming in the sea at Deal beach. Scarlett was an amazing host and we felt very well looked after. Everything we needed and more was provided. We look forward to a return visit. Stacey, Tony and Jack from Berkshire
Fantastic holiday in this gorgeous house, we are all sad to say goodbye to Scarlett and Kent. Thank you so much for being a fantastic host, even rescuing the washing from the rain! Fantastic castle at Dover and the White Cliffs can be seen from St Margarets Bay - great first day for the children. Canterbury was a great day out - at the Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey, and school shoe shopping! Howlett's was OK and the kids loved it and elephants were entertaining, but the signage wasn't great. Don't miss the gorillas to the left of the entrance. Best finds - Pegwell Nature Reserve near Sandwich, Ramsgate Tunnels and the Old Harbour, Shell Grotto and the Geocache route around Barham. The Cartwright family, Shropshire
A friend and I stumbled on this beautiful cottage by chance and booked to stay for 8 days in July this year with my twin toddlers and her 11 year old child. The cottage is even nicer than in the pictures and we simply had a wonderful time. The view is outstanding and the surrounding countryside is incredibly pretty. Many varied forest walks are easily accessible even within walking distance. We strolled up and down the roads leading to the house to see the horses, sheep and courtyards animals all along the neighbouring farms. The cottage itself is immaculate, the bedding and towels are soft and new and every cushion or piece of utensil in kitchen is not only practical but also feels very tastefully handpicked. We weren’t expecting for the cottage to be so well equipped either - all the essentials are there and much more, down to the pink Himalayan salt in the kitchen cupboards! The owner, Scarlett, lives next door but in an entirely separate property and she is really nice. When we arrived we found she had left us several delicious gifts for our stay — and even a lovely bunch of flowers. Over the course of the week she helped us in any way possible and suggested walks and outings that suited us and the children. We can't recommend this stay highly enough and look forward to returning at the first opportunity.
Thank you Scarlett for a wonderful stay. You made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. We had never been to Kent before and we had such a great time - it is a beautiful part of the world, and Valley View cottage is the perfect location to explore it from! We loved punting in Canterbury, Howlett's Animal Park, Joss Bay Beach, The Miniature Railway at Romney Marsh, Canterbury Cathedral and the Kentish Pip Cider farm with its lovely beer garden ! Food at the Black Robin down the road was nice, and the Duke of Cumberland Pub was a hit with Ted (aged 4) thanks to its beer garden with kids play area.
Lovely setting with easy walks all around the property and no need to use the car all weekend. Very dog friendly and our dog had a lovely weekend too. Home owner was extremely welcoming and a fantastic host. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
My family and I stayed at Valley View for the Christmas 2019 period. It was exactly what we were looking for in a holiday rental, a quiet off the beaten track property with lovely walks and views. We arrived late on Christmas Eve in the dark and the owner, that lives in the adjacent property was on hand to help us by guiding us where to park by torchlight as was dark. She was so welcoming and lovely, nothing was too much trouble if we needed her. Also she left us alone too during our stay but was nice to know any questions we had that she was on hand to answer them. The property was very well equipped with everything you could need and more. It was spotlessly clean and really cosy. The home owner had also left lots of goodies for us such as wine, mince pies, milk, bread, tea/coffee and even lovely touches like Christmas crackers, a tablecloth and serviettes. The property had lots of festive additions too, such as a tree and lights etc. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending anyone to stay here over the Christmas period or any other time of the year and we are already planning a stay during the summer when we can make use of the amazing surrounding countryside much more!
Thank you for such a warm and kind welcome!! We had such a wonderful time at your bungalow. It has been one of the best experiences we have had. It's such a cosy and amazing environment we thank you for hosting us in a polite and kind way. We definitely will recommend for others, and would wish to come back! (Peaceful and quiet amazing) Thank you!
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful bungalow. It was snug and cosy and we had such a joyful Christmas staying in your place. We also had a lovely scenic walk in the forests above where we were staying on Christmas Day! We will be sure to recommend you to others. Thank you !
We booked Valley View for 3 weeks from 25th October until the 14th November whilst moving house. From the moment we pulled up the welcome we received from the home owner was unbelievable, she was so warm and couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home. The cottage looked exactly like the pictures although they do not really do the place justice. It is so well equipped it felt like a home from home and the little welcoming touches made us feel really special. We had all the essentials provided, milk, tea, coffee, fresh bread and even a bottle of wine, it was fantastic. The Cottage was spotless and very well appointed, the beds were comfortable and there was ample space for the 3 of us and our 2 cats who adored the open space. We were concerned that we would be cold but we needn’t have worried, the heating was very efficient and the whole place was cosy within no time. Throughout our stay the home owner couldn’t do enough to make sure that we were comfortable and her local knowledge was a godsend We would have no hesitation at all recommending Valley View to anyone who would like a quiet place for a few days at any time of year, it is a home from home.
Lovely place with the most amazing views and woods to wander in, and best placed so conveniently to visit alot of Kent. in the The amenities in the bungalow were amazing and we were made to feel more than welcome. Thank you a lot Scarlett for everything !
We ( 2 adults) were lucky to stay at Valley View for 2 weeks. Nestled in a beautiful private valley, peaceful, quiet, nature all around. However, with easy access to amenities, culture (Canterbury 15 minutes away) and just half an hour from the ferries/tunnel Dover/Folkestone. Scarlett, the owner lives near by and gave us such a warm welcome. She is there if you need her, but on the other hand she gives you all privacy. The bungalow is brand new, well equipped, cozy and you will find everything you might need. In the house you will also find a lot of information about things to do in the region. We had a great time, admired the view and were sad to leave...
"We were lucky to stay here for 2 weeks! A warm welcome from the home owner, fresh flowers, coffee, tea and everything else we might need. A comfortable and cosy bungalow with the most stunning view! So peaceful and quiet we felt at home immediately! Sadly enough we had to put our dog Tommie to sleep just before the holiday. He would have loved it here! So for the first time in 15 years we spent our holiday without our 4-legged friend. There is plenty of information available in the bungalow. Enough to do for all ages and in all weather conditions. We rented a bike for the Crab and Winkle Way to Whitstable. And of course visited the Cliffs of Dover, Samphire Hoe, Canterbury .... Note - Park and Ride at Wincheap (opposite Morrisons supermarket) £3.50 per day for a car + 6 people including bus to city centre. Buses every 10 minutes and you might prefer walk back along the Great Stour, 1.2 mile only ..... We loved every minute here.
Scarlett was an absolutely delightful host. There when we needed her but not at all intrusive. Cottage was in pristine condition, in a beautiful location. A chilled bottle of wine in fridge was a top touch among a number of goodies provided on arrival. Beds were super comfortable.
Beautiful property, wonderful host, fantastic amenities, where we were located that was so much to do! Lots of things for all holiday types and I highly recommend!
