To give our cleaners enough time to complete the additional cleaning and sanitising that is currently needed to keep our guests safe, check-in and check-out times at the majority of our properties have been temporarily revised. The revised times for this property are reflected above.
Little Swaylands has been thoughtfully converted by the owners who live in an adjacent property on a six acre rural site. Located just outside the small village of Benenden in a stunning and peaceful countryside setting, this one bedroom apartment offers spacious accommodation for up to four guests. It has been beautifully designed with stylish furniture and accessories and has been decorated throughout using a subtle colour scheme with complimentary soft furnishings. The property has its own outside seating area which has been cleverly created, ensuring privacy from the main house but the owners are happy to share their grounds which are ideal for a lazy picnic by the pond or for wandering around and meeting the resident Llama called Lulu, the rare breed sheep, the chickens, dogs and peacock. The outside space here is truly an added attraction as the setting is so beautiful you might not want to leave! This is the perfect hideaway for unwinding and relaxation. Out and About:
The area has many National Trust Properties to visit, such as Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Bodiam Castle, Scotney Castle, Leeds Castle. There are also some lovely gardens at Hole Park, Great Dixter and Pashley Manor. There are golf course and fishing lakes in Biddenden and Hawkhurst. The property is close to Sissinghurst and Cranbrook and is an ideal base for exploring the High Weald. The market town of Tenterden, home of the restored Kent and East Sussex Railway is close by, where you can wander along the tree-lined high street bursting with independent shops selling antiques and crafts or enjoy one of the many street cafes for coffee or lunch. There are also many wine makers located in the Tenterden area, offering tours and tastings at their vineyards; Chapel Down, Hush Heath and Gusbourne. Historic Rye is a 25 minute drive and the 7 miles of golden sands at Camber just a little bit further. There is a local pub in Benenden, a butchers and a community shop and cafe. There are farm shops in Cranbrook and a farmers market in Rolvenden, selling local produce and for cycling and walking, try Bewl Water and Bedgebury Forest, which also has a Go Ape for the more adventurous!
An idyllic and creative setting, a very quiet and calming retreat away from the maddening world. Hosts Martine and Tom made us very welcome into their animal orientated haven. Very comfortable accommodation supplemented with a very generous and enjoyable welcome pack.
We had a lovely stay, so peaceful and quiet. We will definitely be back. Hosts were great.
We had a wonderful stay at 'Little Swaylands'. Martine and her family were most welcoming, nothing being too much trouble to enhance our stay. All the animals are a constant source of joy and pleasure. There is little more calming than a walk around the grounds visiting new arrivals and familiar faces. The property was equipped to a high standard and very comfortable, warm and cosy during the chilly evenings. There is a dedicated patio area for the barn with table and chairs, BBQ, and chimenea for morning coffee or an evening drink. There are some lovely walks locally and the area has beautiful scenery and an excellent pub in the village-The Bull- which serves good food. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Little Swaylands. If you want to have some peace and quiet this is the place to come.
