Description

Sitting at the end of a private drive in a lovely garden, is this charming single storey cottage for two.  This spacious studio enjoys lovely views across farmland to the village church and a footpath across the fields leads from the end of the driveway.  Take a pretty country walk through the fields and bluebell woods to the Duck Inn at Pett Bottom famous for being a regular haunt of Ian Fleming author of James Bond.  Or hop on the bus straight into the centre of Canterbury, just a few minutes away and discover this wonderful medieval city, famous for its stunning cathedral and a buzzing and vibrant tourist destination offering fabulous cafes, restaurants, artisan shops, museums and historic buildings to discover.  The local countryside is full of pretty villages and beautiful gardens to visit and the popular seaside towns of Whitstable and Hythe are both under half an hour's drive away. If you just want to head to the local pub for a delicious meal then The Granville is under 100 yards from the house and has a great menu and Shepherd Neame beers - plus they offer a discount for our guests.  Shop: 0.6 miles  Pub: 100 yards    Coast: 11.3 miles

Pets:  1 well behaved dog accepted on request. Please take own bowls and bedding and ensure pets do not go into bedrooms or on furniture.  Please clear all evidence of pets from gardens etc. before leaving.  Pets should not be left unattended in the property.

The property has an open-plan lay-out with the Bedroom and Living Room combined. However, this provides a spacious feel and was what sold it to me from the photos originally. My wife had slight reservations about this aspect beforehand but none in actuality. Having booked with Kent and Sussex Cottages for 4 consecutive years in different locations we have a good idea of what to expect. This year's scored particularly highly with minor features such as the plentiful bathroom 'Lotions and Potions' and the largest of all 'Welcome Packs'. The property, located on the B2068 ( ie A relatively major road)was very quiet but that much easier to travel from and to each day without having the challenge of previous very narrow roads for us 'townies'!!! We did not do all our possible visits and may well return to the Canterbury area again and would definitely book the same property again.The owners were very personable and welcoming. Of the 4 properties booked to date this is my favourite and my wife's 2nd favourite...and by far the best weather!!!
