The Old Potting Room is set in a lovely peaceful garden close to the historic small town of Cranbrook. With its bustling high street, Cranbrook offers all the charms of a medieval country town but with lots of amenities necessary for modern living. The Old Potting Room has been thoughtfully converted to create a comfortable and charming escape for two with under floor heating and a cosy wood burning stove. The open plan living area is stylish and relaxed and has lovely garden views. This is an ideal base from which to explore the High Weald of Kent and Sussex with many National Trust houses and gardens within easy distance including the world famous gardens at Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle. There are many pub restaurants locally as well as golf courses and fishing lakes. The area is also perfect for walkers and cyclists with good access to woodland paths at Bedgebury forest and boating at Bewl Water. Explore the tree lined high street of Tenderden with its pavement cafes and independent shops and then hop on a steam train to visit the moated ruins at Bodiam Castle. The Sussex coastline is also within an easy drive, so why not plan a visit to the ancient town of Rye and the seven miles of sandy beaches at Camber Sands.

We had a lovely week at the cottage. The weather was very nice. We like the south east very much and did a lot of walking.Gerard and Anlie Hoogmoed - The Netherlands - 18th August 2017
Thank you so much for allowing us to use your "Potting Room". We have had a lovely relaxing holiday. The biscuits, plums and flowers were very welcome - Thank you. The weather has been kind, and allowed us to make use of your beautiful garden - it isn't often that we get an opportunity to just sit in a garden. The location was ideal - just short journeys to Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Batemans and Scotney. We also visited the garden at Merriments also lovely. Many thanks once again.Malcolm and Julie - Devon - 11th August 2017
We enjoyed staying in this well equipped cottage with its lovely garden for these 2 weeks. We loved the countryside, the gardens, castles, churches, villages, fetes and fairs in this lovely area of your country. Would love to come again.Jaap - The Netherlands - 16th June 2017
Had a lovely holiday in this delightful cottage in a serene surrounding. We visited many places including several National Trust sites. In this respect we would recommend both Sissinghurst gardens and Scotney Castle. The farm shop and tea room at the top of the road has an excellent variety of produce. The weather has been very kind to us, wet at night and sunny days - what a bonus!Raymond & Bruma - New Forest - 13th May 2017
Fabulous cottage. Brilliant use of the space, very comfortable. I so much enjoyed "my" garden a beautiful space. I also enjoyed visiting numerous gardens, plus stately homes and churches. Went to Rye for an afternoon, what a lovely medieval town. Had good meals at The Grill in Benenden, Topes in Rochester and Webbes in Rye. We highly recommend the Hartley Dyke Farm Shop for wonderful produce.Frances Dunnally - Conneticut USA - 6th May 2017
Thanks, It has been a change having young people around. The underfloor heating has been new to me it works well. Lots of things to like in the cottage, all clean and well presented, and the ordered elegant garden makes a pleasant break for me.Ralph - 21st April 2017
Very comfortable and cosy. Quiet location. Helpful and pleasant owners. Very tall people might find the sloping ceilings upstairs a bit of a problem, though we managed fine. Good base for lots of varied excursions and walks. Ms Christine Robinson - 26th March 2017

Thank you for the welcome on arrival and the way you have equipped The Old Potting Room. The garden is a great place to relax and the locality meant that we were able to have days out with not too much travelling - Sissinghurst, Chartwell and Pemshurst wre top of the list. Cranbrook's free car parks and the Co-op were much used and can recommend the local Indian restaurant (Mumtaz Mahal in Cranbrook High Street)Diana & Brian Miller from Dorset - 1st June 2012

The holiday cottage is very well kitted out and spotlessly clean with every small detail thought of. It is a beautiful place for a holiday, peace and tranquility, birds singing, a pheasant, squirrels and rabbits to entertain in a lovely secluded garden where you can relax on the garden seats provided. If we were to award stars it would definitely be 5 stars. The flowers and biscuits were a lovely touch and much appreciated. We will definitely come to stay here again, you couldn't want more.Mark and Clare Gates from the Isle of Wight - 29th March 2012
