This charming beamed and beautifully restored Grade II listed end-terraced cottage is approached via the famous Union Windmill which has been restored as a working museum and stands proud over the historic town of Cranbrook. 'Woody' is constructed of timber-frame and weatherboard and has been transformed into a wonderful retreat for three and would also suit a small family.  The cottage (awarded our 5* Gold for cleanliness) has been furnished with great attention to detail creating a cosy and welcoming environment using calming colours on the walls and is full of lovely individual vintage pieces. There is a small wood burning stove in the sitting room and a stable door in the kitchen, where you can step out into the courtyard and enjoy the view of the windmill which is exceptionally pretty in the evenings.  Cranbrook High Street is only a few minutes walk away offering a wide range of specialist shops, a Michelin star restaurant, coffee shops, delicatessens, pubs and food shops. Close by is the famous Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and the area is abundant with gorgeous National Trust properties, castles and national parks.  There are footpaths nearby to enjoy as well as woodlands and forests to explore, a golf course, steam trains and a trip to a vineyard which should keep everyone happy. Trains to London and the coast are available from Staplehurst station 5 miles away.

Past Customer,

"Cottage is an adorable delight. Woodburner kept us toasty in the evenings. Thank you for making Woody such a wonderful place to stay."

Past Customer,

"We had a lovely break at Woody (postponed from April due to Covid!). Very comfortable cottage, great to have a dog-friendly cafe (Arthur's) just down the road.'

Past Customer,

"What a fabulous cottage 'Woody' is! We had a lovely week in Cranbrook and hope to return soon. Lots of dog-friendly cafes just a short walk into town"

Past Customer,

We had an amazing stay at Woody! It was our first time in Kent and we so loved all the walks and our visit to Sissinghurst Castle. Our daughter decided this cottage is "the best house ever" and is very sorry to go! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful space with us for the week.

Previous Customer,

We had a lovely week staying in Woody. Our first holiday in Kent, for our first wedding anniversary, also our first self-catering holiday and you have set the standard very high; Woody has everything you need and more! Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Past C,

Woody is delightfully quaint. We had a good time visiting all the local attractions. After a very comfortable stay, we wind our way home to the not-so-leafy Herts. Thank you!

Past C,

A lovely comfortable cottage. A brilliant place to stay and explore Kent.

Past Customer,

Woody is a lovely small cottage and has everything we needed for our mini-break. Cranbrook is a nice village and the view of the windmill is superb! The cottage was very clean and we were welcomed with milk and biscuits, thank you!

Past Customer,

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Woody. The cottage is gorgeous and we loved all the art and interiors. We loved keeping an eye on the windmill and had a lovely night's sleep - so quiet! The surrounding area is beautiful. Our daughter loved finding the toys under her bed. We will definitely come back!

Past Customer,

"What a cute little cottage and beautifully renovated. Lovely and clean and plenty of storage."

Past Customer,

"We were the first people to stay after Covid-19 lockdown lifted! The cottage is gorgeous and just perfect. It is absolutely spotless and clean and you have worked so hard to make it safe for us" 11 July 2020

Past Customer,

We're sorry to leave - we had a very comfortable and cosy few days and saw a lot. Especially enjoyed Hastings Contemporary and Sissinghurst.

Past Customer,

We enjoyed our stay in Cranbrook - this is our third visit and the first stay in Woody. We love the house, it's comfortable and cosy. We wish everyone the same joy as we had staying here.

Past Customer,

'Woody' was the perfect base for our long weekend in the High Weald. We had everything we needed and the milk and (delicious) cookes were much appreciated! We walked to Sissinghurst Castle gardens - muddy but worth it even in winter. A map can be found in the 'info' box.

Dr D,

We've had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. Cosy evenings in front of the fire after long walks in the surrounding countryside. The cottage is beautifully set up and we are well rested and ready for the new year!

Past Customer,

Woody is lovely and welcoming and beautifully done for the visitors.

Past Customer,

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy little cottage. Fully equipped with everything you need - thank you for that and for the tasty cookies of course! We enjoyed the quiet of Cranbrook.
