Peels End is a charming house tucked away down a private driveway in the heart of the lovely village of Elham, with the added benefit of private parking for two cars. The house offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to six guests. The hallway/dining area leads into a large sitting room with a cosy wood burning stove for cooler days, and French doors leading onto the patio for warmer days. The kitchen leads to a sunny conservatory, with gorgeous views over the garden and village church in the distance. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one is en-suite, and a family bathroom. The garden is spacious with terraced seating areas and is really peaceful with only the sound of birds to entertain you. There are two pubs, a restaurant, a cafe and village shop so no need to venture far from the house if you don’t wish to. Elham village is set in the beautiful Elham Valley, nestled between Canterbury and Folkestone, in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so exploring the many footpaths is highly recommended. The house is pet friendly too and accepts up to two dogs so do bring your four-legged friends and enjoy a walk in the unspoiled countryside followed by a pub lunch at one of the many charming village pubs. Out and About:
Apart from the delights of Elham itself and the surrounding Elham Valley countryside, the village is well placed with good access to the historic City of Canterbury with its cathedral, museums, restaurants and shopping, or head south to the coast. The seaside towns of Folkestone, Sandgate and Hythe are all a short drive away and offer a host of activities from the Creative Quarter and trendy Harbour Arm in Folkestone, to a must do ride on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway stopping off at the iconic Dungeness nature reserve.
Despite the very wet weather we had an enjoyable few days. Lovely house set in lovely village.
Lovely comfy house, enjoyed by all the family. Lovely garden for the kids to play in and conservatory for the adults to have a cup of tea. After lots of outings this was the perfect place to return to warm up and relax, ready for the next adventure!
The perfect “get away from it all” getaway. Lovely house and garden. Hope to return.
What a wonderful week my family had at your house in Elham and what an attractive village it is. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. The house was perfect for us - a family of 4 adults and 2 children. We felt at home and the house had everything we needed. The garden is lovely and was a great place for the children and small dog. I would highly recommend the house.
Lovely comfortable house and beautiful garden. We enjoyed Kent at its finest with super weather, visiting as much as we could!
We had a lovely relaxing time. The garden is delightful and we were lucky enough with the weather to make full use of eating outside. Delicious tomato salads with tomato from the greenhouse and lovely tasty apples from the tree in the garden. Lots of footpaths round Elham which we made good use of, to the delight of Zippie.
Very comfortable and spacious house, great for our family of 5 adults and 2 dogs. Great facilities, lovely garden which is also extremely dog friendly. Really enjoyed the stay and a great base for visiting the surrounding areas.
