The Old Stables is situated in the heart of the quaint village Hernhill, alongside the village green. It is the perfect pet friendly retreat for couples looking to get away from it all with plenty of walking and exploring opportunities right from your doorstep. There is a great pub within walking distance which is also dog friendly and serves great food and great beers. The local area is abundant with fruit trees and hop fields yet it is close to the city of Canterbury and Whitstable with its famous beaches. The open-plan nature of the cottage offers a cosy living experience, with an outside dining area for those warmer al fresco evenings with French doors leading to a decked area in the pretty courtyard garden. The Old Stables can also be booked with its sister property, The Pump House, for two couples who want to holiday together but have their own private space. This property offers a real home from home feel with everything you could want to enjoy a holiday here in the Garden of England. Pub: 0 miles (literally over the road!) Shop: 1.3 miles Beach: 6 miles

Out and About:
Located between Faversham and Canterbury, North East Kent offers an array of sites and day-trips to immerse yourself during your stay. The Stables is just a 15-minute drive from the popular seaside town, Whitstable, where you can spend the day walking on the shingle beach, exploring the harbour, and finishing off your evening eating oysters in a local pub. Within a 10-minute walking distance is the idyllic Mount Ephraim Gardens, where you can visit the tea rooms and take archery classes.
A relaxing peaceful area, a beautiful property that was cleaned to a very high standard including some additional Covid 19 cleaning which was really appreciated. The private garden is lovely with some pretty flowers and has the sun in it all day. A lovely pub the red lion is literally over the road, do be mindful this pub is closed Mondays and Tuesdays however the three horse show pub is only a 2 minute drive away. The owners made us feel really welcome, we will definitely return.
A real gem of a one-storey small cottage for a couple with off-road parking outside. Well designed, well equipped with good wi-fi communications and a private outside courtyard and perfectly located by the village green, a beautiful and historic parish church, an old oast house and a very good gastropub called The Red Lion (30 metres walk). You can park up, enjoy the warm comfortable cottage and simply walk for miles through the rolling hills of Kent's orchards and woodlands and enjoy lunch in Hernhill or the nearby villages of Dargate (The Dove is an A++ gastropub with excellent food and wine) and Staplestreet (The Three Horseshoes offers great value in a traditional pub and Mount Ephraim house and gardens are 400 metres walk from the pub). We hope to return soon.
Lovely property and well equipped. Just across the road to a pub. Very clean and the courtyard garden was really lovely.
Very comfortable, well equipped and quiet in a good location for visiting various places. We appreciated the attention to detail with regard to Covid awareness.
Lovely cottage in village, pub opposite and two more in easy walking distance. Doggie walking from doorstep. Easy access to main road and to visit lots of other places within short distances. Locals very friendly. We will be back.
