To give our cleaners enough time to complete the additional cleaning and sanitising that is currently needed to keep our guests safe, check-in and check-out times at the majority of our properties have been temporarily revised. The revised times for this property are reflected above.
A delightful conversion with period features standing in the grounds of the owner's home at the centre of this pretty village, just perfect for two and a babe in arms. This charming property has been beautifully furnished and fitted with great care, quality and consideration. There is a mezzanine bedroom with en-suite bathroom and the property has a small patio with garden furniture and a firepit. The property is adjacent to the newly reinstated 18th century serpentine walk that was a familiar route for Jane Austen when visiting her brother on the nearby Goodnestone estate. The village pub The Fitzwalter Arms, which serves food is also just a few steps along the road. The owner's chickens are kept across the road and you will be invited to go and collect your own free range eggs, or in Spring to go and meet their new born lambs.
Out and About:
This is a perfect spot for lovers of nature, the countryside and walkers. Just a few minutes walk is the beautiful Goodnestone Park with its delightful gardens and tearoom, a favourite place to stay for Jane Austen. Wingham Wildlife park and Howletts zoo are great places to visit for both young and old. Gibsons Farm shop is a half an hour's walk or 5 minutes by car, for your culinary delights and ingredients, locally produced meats, ready meals, florist, cafe and an array of Kent produce. The seaside towns of Deal, Sandwich and Ramsgate are within easy reach for a lovely day out by the sea, and the cathedral city of Canterbury is just 20 minutes drive away.

The Nuthatch great place to stay for 2 and everything you need including a bath and shower. Would 100% stay there again. Lovely touches in the holiday cottage home made cake and bread.
An excellent property. Very cleverly designed and very comfortable.
I can’t think of anything that our kind hosts had forgotten. The cottage was spotless and modern inside whilst in keeping with the historical village. Everything was supplied - with many thoughtful touches - a box of Kent Chocolates, fresh eggs, milk and bread - and two fluffy white bath robes! Everything was of such a high standard - walk-in sensor lights in the bathroom, wall mounted phone chargers, and a gorgeous wood burning stove to keep us cosy. There were details of local attractions and amenities - and our hosts whilst not obtrusive were on hand on the site if we needed anything. We would thoroughly recommend Nut Hatch for a comfortable peaceful break.
Hello - I just wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to you all for the most amazing experience this weekend! The Nuthatch Cottage was simply stunning - beautifully designed with every possible amenity thoughtfully provided by the owners. We were warm and toasty throughout our stay- with the lovely wood-burner -and thoroughly appreciated the welcome pack of fresh bread, eggs and milk - and yummy Kent chocolates! The ballet at The Marlowe was just spell-binding and we were totally enraptured! Thank you all again for such a wonderful prize - we now have lovely memories to treasure!
