The main house on the property is Lower Standen Farm - full of character, original beams and a stunning inglenook fireplace, it oozes wrap around cosy comfort for fabulous autumn and winter breaks and for the summer, the hidden swimming pool is just the icing on the cake. Furnished with flair and taste, the farmhouse offers luxurious country living for all the family. The location is both tranquil and relaxing but it is also a very convenient holiday base being so central in the Weald of Kent. There are many, many local attractions to visit - from National Trust properties, gardens, vineyards, the country towns of Tenterden and Cranbrook - plus the coast for historic Rye, Hastings and Winchelsea an easy drive. The huge inglenook fireplace is the centrepiece with a wonderful Duresta four seater sofa to snuggle down into and watch the flames....There are comfortable armchairs, occasional tables, a lovely antique bureau, display cabinet and a large flat screen TV/Bluray/DVD/PVR system. To one end there is an Ercol sofa, an antique bureau and chair in what feels like a garden room, with French doors opening out to the patio
Kitchen has a slate tiled floor, marble work tops and tons of storage. It is exceptionally well equipped providing an electric double oven, induction hob with extractor hood, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and pretty country table and chairs by the French doors giving direct access to the patio and garden beyond

Pool only available from first May Bank holiday weekend through to the end of September. Please bring your own pool towels.The pool is cleaned every Friday and a gardener may visit during the week.

We had an amazing weekend at the Lower Standen Farm & Granary. From enjoying a glass of wine in front of the open fire, eating around a table big enough of 16, to just waking up in the morning and looking out of the massive windows that overlook the beautiful countryside.
