The Hen House is a lovely quirky family property sleeping 5 with a walk through third bedroom and a spiral staircase leading from the sitting room to a mezzanine double bedroom. The sitting room has retained its original beams and is spacious and light and leads into a large family kitchen with plenty of room for cooking, eating and socialising. It is located opposite the owners' barn but there is an enclosed garden facing away from the owners' house ensuring your privacy. It is located in the hamlet of Hook Green and is within an easy walk to the local pub serving good food. The surrounding countryside is leafy and green and hosts lots of opportunities for keen ramblers, walkers and cyclists with good access to both Bewl Water and Bedgebury Forest. As well as the bike trails at Bedgebury there are the tree top adventures at Go Ape Lamberhurst has its' own vineyard, two more gastro pubs, a golf course and the atmospheric ruins of Scotney Castle. Sissinghurst Castle and gardens are just outside Cranbrook and Tenterden is a little further afield which has its own steam railway. It is an easy drive to the lovely spa town of Tunbridge Wells, with shops, restaurants, theatres and its' cafe culture. As a family of four (children ages - 11 and 8) we found this property very nice and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hen House. Good location as many places to visit. My children loved seeing the owners horses everyday. This really added to there enjoyment of the Holiday.
We had a great time at the Hen House. We were allowed to stay 14 fabulous days :-) The Lodge itself and the very kind support from our Host are more than perfect. Even our kids enjoyed the stay also very very much direct from the start, which is not common. Driving distances are not to far to reach the Beach, London (via Train Tunbridge Wells), a lot of National Trust Locations, big Supermarket, ... We really really can recommend the Hen House for a stay. Thanks to our very very kind hosts.
''A lovely cottage in a rural yet convenient location, the most welcoming and considerate hosts. A great break, thank you''.
