The Nutshell offers luxurious country living and is located just outside the pretty village of Pluckley with two good pubs within a mile, one renowned for its seafood, a lovely farm shop and is famous for being one of the most haunted villages in Kent. This property has been carefully restored to a high standard and has been furnished with flair giving a contemporary edge to the open plan living area. The property has retained its original beams and is spacious and light, whilst being warm and cosy with a wood burning stove and has a majestic centre piece copper bath. There is a covered loggia seating area by the entrance as well as a courtyard garden, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of something while whilst taking in the glorious views. The countryside is surrounded by apple orchards and is remembered as the location where the Darling Buds of May TV series was filmed. You can hop on the local train - just one stop to Ashford with fast trains to Canterbury, the East Kent coast, London or even Paris. The owners have an acclaimed photographic studio in the grounds, so why not plan ahead and start your Christmas gift list early!

Delightful property, location and owners, couldn't be better
Absolutely loved it. The host was so friendly in communication too.
The Nutshell was such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Everything was finished to an incredibly high standard and was kitted out with everything you could possibly need. The owners were so kind and friendly but without being intrusive. An oasis of calm away from our usual London lives - we will definitely be returning.
Great property, especially pleased with the bed which was very comfy with bedding of a high quality. The copper bath was also great to relax in.
We felt that the owners had taken the best bits of all the self catering properties we have stopped in , and put them all in The Nutshell.
Very peaceful setting and the décor and detail throughout was outstanding.
Lovely place, clean and well equipped, friendly owners and a great spot to explore the county.
A fabulous property - very quiet; house well presented. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom had super fittings- a walk in shower and a copper bath.. A great welcome basket of goodies was waiting for us on arrival. An outstanding property to stay in.
A delightful cottage in a beautiful setting. Very friendly too.
We loved our stay in The Nutshell. There was heavy snow during our visit but there couldn't have been a better place to be. It is a cosy, quirky and romantic property and we loved snuggling up under the big throw watching films in front of the log burner. We managed to visit Leeds Castle before the snow and it is simply beautiful.Your ticket lasts for a year should you want to visit again. We also visited Tenterden where there are gorgeous wee shops and we loved the coffee shop, Nutmeg, which served a great selection of gluten free cakes. We also ate at the Rose and Crown where the staff were friendly, the food was good (gluten free options available) and the open fire very welcome! The farm shop at the end of the road is also worth a visit. We got veg, soup ( we returned for more!) cheese and crackers. We will be returning to the Nutshell.
