Very quiet and homely - and two pubs within 100m!Mr J Burch - 18th July 2016
We are a family from Berlin in Germany and we have spent a lovely week in this wonderful cottage. The country and people here are very nice and we would really like to come back! We can recommend excellent food at The Chequers Pub. Many greetings from Germany!Rainer, Thomas & Steffe - Germany - 24th July 2015
We picked the best week: Air show at Headcorn Aerodrome with spitfires, hurricanes, harvards, dragonfly and many more: Motorcycle meeting pre 1940 with lots of British oldies. Open days at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation where we could see the most amazing big cats. The weather was good and we visited some beautiful places such as Penshurst. We took the Steam Railway to Bodiam Castle. We visited the Morgan Museum in Rolvenden. After that everyday we came "home" to the lovely Amberstone Cottage - just perfect!Verrle Hans-Wojt - Belgium - 18th July 2015
Staying at Amberstone Cottage we found a delightful, well appointed cottage in a beautiful village. We experienced good food at The Flying Horse and at The Chequers, we also had lots of interesting days out - we even had good weather! What else could we ask for? All these little ingredients make for a wonderful holiday - thank you.Sarah & iain Taylor - Exeter Devon - 16th June 2015
We are back again - Always just as lovely - Thanks again!Bells from California - again! - 7th June 2015
Thank you for the warm welcome at Amberstone Cottage. It is a very well equipped and delightful cottage. Smarden is such a lovely village and we feel very at home here. We visited Pashley Manor Gardens, Sissinghurst, Knole, Great Dixter, Bateman's, Ightham Mote, Chartwell and King Johns Gardens in Etchingham. - All so beautiful. We will come back as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.Klaus & Ludi - from Germany - 30th May 2015
We have had a great time!. We love the cottage and the village with the local pub the Horse & Chequers. The Three Chimneys Pub just outside Biddenden is well worth a visit (excellent food) and if you are looking for tea and cake or a light lunch we highly recommend The Tiny Teapot on the Sissinghurst side of Biddenden across from the Red Lion. For the golfers, Chart Hills, Dale Hill and The Weald of Kent all offer a warm welcome and excellent courses to visitors. Also we enjoyed some National Trust properties - Bateman's, Bodiam Castle and Smallhythe Place. We would definitely come back to this lovely cottage again. Thanks for everything!Jane & Peter Eichmann - USA - 8th May 2015
Our one week stay in this cottage was very nice. We went to London by train which was very easy. We went to Sissinghurst, Canterbury and Walmer which were all wonderful. Thanks a lot.Sylvia Gert and Family - Holland - 1st May 2015
We are back again!. Amberstone Cottage is as warm and welcoming as the last time. We have done lots of grand-parenting duties in Headcorn, but we have managed trips to Bodiam Castle and Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Bedgebury Pinetum and Leeds Castle. We have been so lucky with the beautiful autumn weather. Thank you for sharing your delightful home and we look forward to visiting again next year. Carol & Matthew - from Suffolk - 27th September 2014

We are happy here and we are sad to go. We are happy we spent our holiday here.Katja, Luke & Family - Germany - 23rd August 2014
Just a few words from us. This is our first holiday with our kids (16 & 18) in England. My husband and I were in England about 22 years ago. We loved the cottage as soon as we saw the pictures of it and it is just as we thought it would be. We have seen a lot this week, Battle Abbey (great with audio guide tour in Dutch) Canterbury, Leeds Castle (also beautiful) Brighton, Hastings (great fish & chips!) Rye and more... Tomorrow we have to leave, yes it is as it is! But first we visit Dover. Thank you for everything.Beukema family - Holland - 16th August 2014
We had a wonderful week in Amberstone Cottage, well equipped and cosy. We loved England already and know Kent even more! Smarden is an idyllic setting for nice walks and 'eating' pubs. Amberstone Cottage is well situated for exploring and with a lovely welcome and friendly neighbours.Mrs Hurst - 14th September 2013
Amberstone is the most beautiful old cottage, really cosy and comfortable with every thing you could possibly need but also exquisitely furnished with a lovely atmosphere. The village is very beautiful and extremely friendly. It has the convenience of a has everything village shop two doors up and a pub/restaurant directly opposite! At the back of the cottage is a real suntrap of a little courtyard, sheltered and secluded. Williams - 23rd May 2008
A beautiful spacious character cottage, in a really central location.Kate at Freedom Holiday Homes - 19th November 2007
