Sentinel sits in an elevated position with wonderful far reaching views across the Weald of Kent. Originally a fruit pickers bothy it has been converted to a modern styled chalet sleeping 4 but can accommodate 6 using a sofa bed. The property sits due south and enjoys a spacious open plan living area with doors opening onto a large raised deck which is perfect for outside dining and enjoying the sunset.  The property has central heating and a feature flame effect fire creating a cosy night time atmosphere with coloured lighting and is also perfect for chilly evenings.  The kitchen is fully fitted and there are 2 bedrooms on the first floor with access to a cloakroom. There is a ground floor shower room making Sentinel an option for guests who are mobility impaired. The owners, who live in the farmhouse, keep South American Paso Fino horses who are always ready for a juicy carrot!  The nearby village - with three pubs - is just at the top of the hill and you are perfectly placed from here to visit many attractions including National Trust properties - Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, Bodiam Castle and Leeds Castle, Maidstone and Bluewater are an easy drive for major retail therapy, local vineyards for wine tasting and tours, lots of great country walks and there are three golf courses close by too - so something for everyone! Popping over to France for the day is easy and it's only one hour on the train to London from the nearby mainline station.   Shop: 0.5 mile   Pub: 0.5 mile   Coast: 24 miles

At certain times of the year there will tractors and other farm machinery around so young children and pets must be supervised at all times

Sentinel Cottage was well decorated and appointed. I particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the decking area and looking out over the Kent countryside. The owner was very helpful and resolved any issues promptly. I would recommend a visit to this cottage.
