This delightful, little house really is a romantic idyll, set in the beautiful gardens of a Grade II listed 16th century dower house and overlooking a private tennis court. The Pavilion has been beautifully furnished with a touch of romance and glamorous French style, having pretty painted antique furniture, gorgeous fabrics and delicate white bedlinen. This luxury property which sleeps 2 has full sunshine all day and pretty plantation shutters internally, to keep cool on hot summer days and the log burning stove in the living area keeps guests warm and cosy on those cooler evenings. There is a lovely veranda to the front for dining al fresco and enjoying the garden and to the side there is also a little paved patio leading off the bedroom, the perfect spot for a relaxed private morning coffee and a croissant. The delightful town of Tenterden with the pretty tree lined main street and weatherboarded houses is an easy stroll of just over a mile. The town has a great choice of independent shops, good restaurants and cafes to visit and whilst there a 'must do' is to hop onto the Tenterden and East Sussex steam railway and take afternoon tea on a magical trip to Bodiam Castle, with its fairytale turrets and moat. There are also many lovely country walks and cycle routes around the town to be enjoyed by more active guests. Just a short drive away is the acclaimed Chapel Down Winery and The Swan restaurant where you can dine on the finest local produce and award winning English wines. Heading for the coast and the medieval cinque port of Rye is a true step back in time with ancient winding cobbled streets and many artisan shops, or the atmospheric Winchelsea beach, a beautiful unspoilt beach that is rarely busy and perfect for beachcombing. But with such beautiful grounds surrounding the Pavilion you may just wish to stay in and enjoy your home from home - relax on the veranda, play a game of tennis, visit the ducklings in the natural pond or ask the Owners for a peek at the fascinating interior of historic Brunger House. A lovely peaceful few days in a lovely setting. The Pavilion is superb and beautifully appointed. A warm welcome made it perfect. I needed a few days rest and that’s just what I had. Again thank you.
Lovely hosts and generous welcome pack.
We’ve had a fabulous week thank you. The Pavilion and gardens are lovely - thank you so much for your hospitality and generous welcome pack, much appreciated. A brilliant morning was spent (Sunday) at Headcorn Aeordrome watching Spitfires taking people out on flights and parachutes etc, well worth it if you love planes. Many thanks again.
This was a fabulous week. Thank you to the owners for the very warm welcome, makes us very comfortable. The welcome pack was amazing. Could not be better. Special thank you to owner's Mum for the very nice scones. We loved the garden very much, makes this place very special. We will recommend this place to all our friends in Holland.
