This 300 year old listed and beamed cottage has been lovingly restored by its' owners and is perfectly placed along the tree lined High Street of historic Tenterden, known locally as the "Jewel in the Weald". The cottage is spread over three floors and offers a stylish and welcoming holiday home with its own front garden and rear enclosed courtyard and a parking permit included for your stay. Oozing character, there is an impressive inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, lovely for cosy evenings around the blazing fire. There are two spacious bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and a bathroom on the ground floor. The cottage is only a few hundred yards from the town centre with its many restaurants, coffee shops and independent retailers and antique shops. Tenterden is home to The Kent & East Sussex Railway from where steam trains wend their way through the stunning Garden of England, stopping at Newenden where you can cruise to Rye from the Boating Station or continue on to explore the moated ruins of Bodiam Castle. There are also golf courses near by and Chapel Down Vineyard, where you can enjoy a tour of the estate and finish with a wine tasting session. There are many other places of interest so a week at this cottage just won't be long enough.

We had a wonderful weekend - the hosts are fantastic and the local tips were really helpful. The cottage is beautiful, so clean, lovely layout, spacious and all the amenities you would need. We could not fault it, we've had a lovely, relaxing break. Branco & Catherine Machin. North London. Branco & Catherine Machin. North London - 28th November 2017
We just loved our stay at the cottage. It's comfortable and cosy, a home away from home. Karen and Brian made us feel very welcome, they live next door which makes contact easy but they respect your privacy. A perfect little gem! Eleonora Eppens, Netherlands - 14th November 2017
We really enjoyed our stay in Tenterden. The cottage is beautifully renovated, with a lot of original details remaining - but equipped with everything you would expect or could need for a pleasant stay (including some firewood for the stove :-)). The location is perfect, too - a lot of nice shops and places to eat within walking distance (some right across the street even) and a parking lot behind the house. Karen and Brian were very friendly and quick to reply to our messages. They were kind enough to pick us up from the bus stop when we arrived in the dark and even made sure there was something to eat in the kitchen, just in case we would arrive after the shops closed. All in all, we would very much recommend a stay in the cottage! Remco Greutnik, Netherlands. - 6th November 2017
Karen and Brian's beautifully restored cottage in the centre of town, with glorious garden and bird song is a perfect place to stay. We enjoyed every aspect of our visit, from warm hospitality, appreciated treats to superb beds and bedding. Can wholeheartedly give highest recommendation! J Warrington, Chichester - 16th October 2017
We loved the way that the cottage has been laid out. We very quickly felt at home as all the facilities of a modern home are provided in a delightful period cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped but there are plenty of good eating places in Tenterden. One thing to be careful of is the staircase to the first floor. This is a spiral staircase with narrow width steps and requires care for anyone with limited mobility. The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable. We loved it so much we are booking for next year”B Chick, Newhaven - 6th October 2017
