Description

Doves Barn has been converted into a luxury property for two, offering a spacious interior and has been beautifully decorated throughout.  This beautiful pet-friendly property is set in the grounds of the owners house in the small village of Broad Oak with its own drive and private parking.  The open plan living area is modern and stylish with local artwork on the walls, a large comfy sofa in front of the wood burning stove and a spiral staircase to first floor bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped for preparing food, if you're not tempted to eat out at any one of the many pubs and restaurants in the area. There is plenty of walking in the High Brede Woods and beyond the village is the market town of Rye with its famous cobbled streets, antique shops, pubs and restaurants.  Local vineyards also make for a great day out.  The Sussex coastline is particularly stunning with seven miles of golden sand at Camber and fantastic dunes to explore.  Other places to visit close by are Battle, with its ruined Abbey and battlefields, Hastings and the famous house and gardens at Great Dixter in Northiam. You also benefit from a local convenience store, bakery and a local brewery all within walking distance from the cottage.

Reviews

The owners were very friendly and wished to help. Very nice welcome pack, nice cottage with wood burning stove. Close to lots of attractions. Battle shops and Rye very good.

Mrs Marianne Holland,

An excellent holiday property in a beautiful area with plenty to see and do.

Mrs Louise Williamson,

We spent a lovely weekend in this cottage, away from the heat of London. The barn is cosy and beautifully renovated, with everything you need. Excellent and easy contact with the hosts. The location is perfect to explore that beautiful area (Rye, Hastings, Bodiam Castle, Winchelsea, Dungeness, etc).

Mr Christian Broye,

Owners were very kind and helpful

Mr Jan Kusters,

Most welcoming host nothing too much trouble, excellent.

Mrs Diana Watson,

Beautiful Barn, tastefully finished. Our dog loved the garden and paddock. Fantastic location we visited, Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, Rye, Camber Castle, (including the fat fish hut) Romney Marshes, Small hythe, Battle Abbey, Batemans, Hastings Country Park and Sissinghurst Castle - Chartwell and Quebec House on the way back. Fab Finds: Fish hut, The Old Grain Store-Rye, and Bluebells Battle. Thank you for the helpful touches on arrival, tasty cake and dog accessories. Just what the Dr ordered, a break from the big smoke, many thanks

Rayna & Oban,

Excellent cottage, we're very proud to be the very first guests at this beautiful barn. A very pretty cottage and tastefully decorated. Nice surprises in the fridge ! We visited the beautiful old town of Rye, the stunning landscape of the Seven Sisters and had nice walks. Excellent bakery round the corner, very friendly host, beautiful area. What a treat! If we ever get a chance to return to this beautiful part of England, we will book to stay here again! Thank you very much
