The ancient ruins at Battle Abbey and the 1066 battlefields are close by as are Sheffield Park Gardens and Bodiam Castle. For the young ones Drusillas Park at Alfriston, the Bluebell Railway and Go Ape at Bedgebury are a must as is Royal Tunbridge Wells for its cafe culture, great restaurants and its range of independent shops.
