Description

A magnificent Grade II listed barn conversion and an adjacent apartment, situated on a small equestrian farm surrounded by fields and woodlands, can be booked together to offer accommodation for up to 8, in the grounds of an equally ancient farmhouse. Heavily beamed throughout, The Old Barn which sleeps 6, has stunning vaulted ceilings and high quality oak carpentry and offers a spacious open plan living area which can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests around the dining table, a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom on the ground floor and two further bedrooms on the first floor.  The ground floor has under floor heating throughout and there is a wet room, suitable for guests with mobility requirements. 

The Apartment:
Sleeps 2 and has an open plan living area with kitchenette, a separate bedroom and bathroom and is accessed via a wooden outside staircase.
Living Area is carpeted with a sofa, occasional tables, TV with Freeview, DVD
Kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge with ice compartment
Bedroom is carpeted with a double bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers
Bathroom is tiled, a bath plus hand held attachment, washbasin, heated towel rail, w.c.

Both properties are surrounded by stunning countryside and woodlands, which are perfect for nature lovers and walkers with a small stream running behind the property. The medieval town of Mayfield is 3 miles away with its pretty high street shops and pub.  The ancient ruins at Battle Abbey and the 1066 battlefields are close by as are Sheffield Park Gardens and Bodiam Castle.  For the young ones Drusillas Park at Alfriston, the Bluebell Railway and Go Ape at Bedgebury are a must as is Royal Tunbridge Wells for its cafe culture, great restaurants and its range of independent shops.  Shop: 3 miles  Pub: 3 miles  Coast: 19 miles

Parking: Ample parking available alongside the barn
Pets: One well-behaved dog or 2 small dogs welcome in The Barn. Dogs must be kept on a lead outside.  There is a dog basket and water bowl provided
Heating: The Old Barn has oil underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and radiators in the two upstairs bedrooms.  The Apartment has electric radiators
Notes: A ramp provides level access to the front door and hallway in The Old Barn from the parking area with easy wheel chair access to the living area and downstairs bedroom. A picnic area is available in a woodland area across the bridge over the nearby stream but children should be supervised outside the enclosed garden.  The mobile reception is variable inside the property.
