Description

Broomhurst Grove is a stunning converted barn in a peaceful rural setting with far reaching spectacular views across the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is set within the grounds of a family homestead of 52 acres of grassland and 7 acres of woodland which guests are more than welcome to walk over and explore. The property is all on one level and has wheelchair access.

For those concerned about their carbon footprint - do not worry!  The Grove has 4 kw’s of Solar panels and 2 Solar thermal panels, all run by an Air Source Heat Pump. This makes the underfloor heating and hot water Carbon Neutral. There is also a free standing wood burning stove to ensure that you are snug at all times. The building has been insulated to be a Zero Energy Building, meaning the energy used is only what is produced onsite through renewable resources. All cleaning products are environmentally friendly to work in harmony with our AONB environment and delicate waste water treatment system.      

The open plan living and kitchen area are modern and spacious with a stylish country feel and has floor to ceiling folding doors allowing the natural world inside.  The property can sleep 5/6 guests using a full sized truckle bed in bedroom 3, and has two other bedrooms, one with its own en-suite.  The property welcomes 3 dogs and the garden is fenced and secure. The location is perfect for those wanting to explore the surrounding countryside and engage in some walking and cycling and is within an easy driving distance to some of our lovely gardens and National Trust properties including Pashley Manor, Hever and Scotney Castles.  Battle, with its' ruined Abbey and the Herstmonceux Castle and Observatory Science Centre are a fun day out and Bateman's is just along the road.  

The nearest pubs are in Mayfield where you will find The Rose & Crown (dog friendly) and The Middle House which serve excellent food and local beers.  The Star at Old Healthfield and The Wheel at Burwash Weald  are equally close and again serve very good food and are dog friendly. Tunbridge Wells is a 20 minute drive to the North and is a historical spa town also known for its vibrant cafe and shopping culture and finally no holiday would be complete without a day trip to the beach. We could go on about things to do here, but would run out of space. This beautiful 1066 County is full of historic towns, villages and stunning coastline all within easy reach of Broomhurst Grove.

Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom with a super-king size oak framed bed with 1600 pocket sprung mattress, White Company bed linen, two bedside tables and lamps, a dressing table, double wardrobe and En-suite Shower Room with overhead shower and hand held shower attachment, washbasin, mirror, w.c. and grey marble effect tiling
Bedroom 2 has a king size oak framed bed with 1600 pocket sprung mattress, White Company bed linen, two bedside tables and lamps, dressing table, chest of drawers and single wardrobe with mirror
Bedroom 3 has a 3ft single bed with a pull-out truckle which when assembled becomes a full sized double bed, a bedside table and lamp, wardrobe with shelving. This room is most suited to 1 adult or 2 children. It is worth noting that the double bed takes up the whole width of the room but otherwise provides a good sized single room
Bathroom has a white ceramic bath with overhead shower and separate shower attachment, washbasin, mirror, towel rail, w.c. and grey marble effect tiling


Garden: Doors from the living room lead out to a patio with garden furniture and a Weber barbecue, a lawned enclosed fenced garden with 2 sun loungers and uninterrupted views over the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Heating: Underfloor heating throughout, wood burning stove with free logs provided.
Parking: Ample parking in front of the property.
Pets: 3 Dogs welcome. Bowls and dog towels are provided for drying wet and muddy paws. Please ensure pets do not go into bedrooms or on the furniture and are not left unattended at the property.
Notes: WiFi is fiber to premises and is a SUPERFAST 150MB. This is a homestead and the owners have 3 horses, sheep in surrounding fields and two friendly dogs.  Storage for own bicycles available.

An extremely comfortable and idyllic place to stay. Every comfort needed and spotlessly clean. The surrounding countryside was both beautiful and tranquil. We had a greeting visit from Hanna and Dan and their two lovely black Labradors...all made us feel very welcome. There was a perfect sitting and eating out area and plenty of  walks on their land to satisfy our dog. So many interesting places to visit in the surrounding areas, sadly too many to cram into only one week. We would recommend it to adult families, families with young children, dog lovers and perfect for a romantic holiday. One of the few places we have stayed that I wouldn't hesitate in recommending.

The property has lovely views over the Sussex countryside. It's incredibly peaceful - the only sounds you can hear are pigs cows and horses and the occasional light aircraft. The open plan living area is well equipped, modern, bright and airy. We also enjoyed sitting on the patio and we made good use of the barbeque. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We only wished we had had more time to stay in this wonderful accommodation! Highly recommended.
